I'd check your source. The Type-R chassis is certified and very legal to compete.

sorry Alex he wasn't there when it was certified I was it has a NASA pro racing cert. using Scca GT-1 specs, stamped cage with a log book. unless something in the cage has changed it should be good to go, Sheldon X crew chief.
