I have a regular cab dodge with a 271 transfer case in the 2.6 class. I upgraded the rear drive line to 1480 yokes. After putting it in the truck i realized I only have about 3 1/4 inch of spline overlap on the tailshaft of the transfer case, I am worried that is not enough. The slip yoke has a lot of room left for a longer driveline tube. Has anyone had any problems with breaking parts because of this? I didnt find much on search cause everyone wants to talk about total lenghts and most trucks are different.

My driveline shop Told me to stick the yoke in all the way then pull it back an inch then measure center to center for the driveshaft length. I cant answer your question if it'll be ok though

Okay, good to know. The more I think about it I might just take it back to get it lengthened to be safe.
