I don't know much about dually rim setup but if I plan to get a dually adapter kit for my pulling truck.

Does this constitute a all the way around rim change or can I run a standard rim on the outside tires?

I like my Moto Metal wheels a lot but like I said I am not familiar with how the rear dual tires mount, I'd like to keep them if possible.

Also, where would I find the dual wheel adapters?

Thanks in advance!

You would need a heck of a spacer to run a non dually wheel on the outside back tire. I wander about running a front dually wheel spacer back there. To get an idea of the spacer you need lay the moto wheel rim and tire on the ground mounted side down and measure from the ground to the backside of the wheel. This will give you an idea how thick your spacer will need to be. If the moto metal wheel is steel, you could have the center cut out and rewelded. The other thing to thing about is the rim widths, dually wheels are typically pretty narrow.

What about just throwing some stock dually wheels on it for pulling and take them off afterwards? Might be able to fin some around here for a resonable price...

You are missing the point, the truck is a trailer queen.. I want the front wheels and at least the rear outside wheels to match...

Ahhh, I see, I thought it was a driver that you pulled with.....

Maybe on the inside tire you could run it on a dually rim just like it normally would be (flipped inwards) and then you could mount one of the spacers they use on the front axle on a dually that is like 5"-6" long and mount your SRW tire and wheel to that...?

buy a set of rims ! sorry but you space those wheel out and go to pulling you are putting a load out on those studs ! hate to see you pull and the wheels come loose.

Hey if it's a trailer queen why not run duals with singles spaced out buy stock dually spacers front and rear?:evil

Im kinda with zstroken on this one Garrett. Depending on the rim offset of the Moto Metal wheels you will need a spacer at least that wide to keep them tires from rubbin.

Remember Baby Steps Garret, Baby steps! You had a low carnage year in 07, Just get some dually wheels go to the 255/85 in the rear and a 33 12.50 up front.

So what did you do Garrett?

I'm wondering what it would take to put duals on my 01.5 with rear disk brakes? Are there any options other than loosing the caliper? (or the obvious option to swap to a dually axle with drum brakes)

What about 17" dually wheels, they should clear the calipers I would think?

No they wont, there are dually axles with disk brakes out there also, the brakes are set in further with a longer hub.

you could go for a really wide stance, use a cheapo regular steel wheel inside, with a big spacer and your normal wheels outside, or put a 3" spacer on the hub to set the first wheel out away from the caliper.

You will need a 2" spacer (IIRC) to slide on the hub first then slide the stock dually rim on the factory studs then a 3" spacer to slide on next that has recess holes for lug nuts to tighten down that wheel and spacer. The outside wheel of yor choice will go on to the studs that are made into the second spacer. The studs are offset half a hole from the factory studs. It is about 600$ for both spacers and the internal lugnuts. They are tuff enough to pull with but get to be a hassle to mess with. The spacer are orderd to your specs foe tire width.
