Just looking for some input on the best electric water pump to use.

Be nice to use the electric after you pull let water circulate with engine off, and then use the factory for competition. I guess a checkvalve would take care of it.

What size is the connection on the single outlet 55 gpm unit anyone know?

I would cut the bottom hose and put a "T" in there and then use one of the aluminum soft plug with the AN fitings in it that they use for the bypass systems then it would pull water out of the bottom hose threw the electric into the soft plug threw the block then back into the radiator by way of the yop hose

Yeah, they all wear out. Usually the seals go and the motor fills with coolant. The good ones have replaceable motor cartridges.

I actully ran the second one down in that link (55 gallon per minute) unit in the original BBD here it is installed inline at the bottom radiator hose.

It was great for cooling things down after a hook while the motor was off, as mentioned above, even better with the electric fans as well.

BBD II has the first one in that link (20 gallons per minute)

Scott what are the dimensions of the pump(outlet/inlet)? Also did you bypass it when you were pulling or?

I remember having to purchase the fittings that were the dimension of the radiator hose if I remember it fit nicely. I just ran an on and off switch but I also remember seeing a wiring harness somewhere for an electric pump with relay and fuse that you can hook up to the pump as well. I pulled the stock water pump and blanked off the opening.

I think i am going to clip the fins a little more on my stock pump and use it while pulling then use the 20 gpm after the run. I think a may install a check valve somewhere in the circuit. I think i can get a swing check that won't impede the flow alot. thanks for your input

Cause some rules say you must have stock water pump in place

why would you go through that trouble when then bolt in ones?

I was kind of wondering the same thing cause if the bolt up electric pumps would have been available back when I did that I would have certainly went with one. No such rule out this way
