external wastegate questions

well like i said earlier in this thread.. i dont know chit about external gates other than what they are used for. ive been shopping around.. whats it mean if you see a gate that says. its a 10psi gate or 14-18psi gate? i get the mm measurement is the size of the opening.. does the psi rating mean that it opens at that psi rating?
