External wastegate sizing?

How do I determine what size external wastegate I need? Who makes the best ones? For a 6.7 cummins.

I see more Tial gates than everything else combined. 38mm seems to be common.

JGS, Extreme Diesel, Tial all three make excellent wastegates in my opinion. I think we will need to know what you are going to be doing with the truck, the turbos being used, nitrous or not, etc.

We need details.

Is there any performance down-side to using a bigger wastegate?

I have a single gt4088r on it right now, kinda doing some experimenting with Tom@turboresource since he doesn't have any experience with the 6.7. With just 120 horse injectors and a airdog for fueling it will do 33 lbs with a .85 exhaust housing. I havn't had a chance to get a drive pressure gauge on it yet but in neutral or park I can build 3-5 lbs of boost @ 2000rpms. Tom thinks I might need a bigger housing. I want to run a single until a transmission comes out for the 68rfe that will hold some power and then I will do twins with a gt4718r or bigger. But that won't be until I have a tranny. So I will be running it with no programming, just injectors and mp-8. I want to run a external wastegate not because I need to but just to be safe. I want to do something like this.

dual wastegates on your truck would be a 'little' overkill

Can you explain that? I figured 2 smaller ones so I could wastegate both sides of the manifold because it is a divided t4 manifold. With the divider there how could a single wastegate work?

talk with chris or glenn at E.D. they can get u set up with what u need. search engineered diesel wastegate

E.D. has them in 40, 50 and 60mm size gates and plates available for all the size flanges including your T4 manifold.
