I am just putting this out there to explore some options.

I have a Schwitzer S465 with 65mmx92mm compressor wheel and 83mmx74mm turbine wheel with a machined to fit S300 .8AR wastegated housing.

I just made and installed a spring controlled wastegate that works off of drive pressure. Much like the one Bullseye Power sells.

The only downside to the turbo is the compressor wheel had a few knicks in it when I purchased it, I had the entire thing inspected and rebuilt by Turbochargers.com and they filed the knicks out and balanced the shaft/wheels to compensate.

Also (not really a downside) it does not have the "standard" compressor housing on it, it has the Mack Truck style that uses a 3.5" silicone clamp for an outlet. It has a 4" bead-rolled aluminum inlet that I had Joe Hellmann weld on.

It is in the same condition as when I put it on probably only 8k miles ago and my only reason for possibly trading is to tow better on the street.

So what I am wanting to trade for is an S300 I am kind of open as far as 62, 64, 66mm compressor wheels and 12cm cast, 14cm cast or 13cm SS or 16cm SS. Or even a set of twins minus the HT3B.

If anyone is interested in trading let me know what you have and lets try to work a deal.

Thanks-Chris

Here are some pictures I just took. I have a cheap digital camera so I will see if I can borrow my buddy's or somethin' to take some better ones.

I would really like to trade for a SPS62 or HTT 62/71/14.

Also to mention I will send the downpipe with the turbo because it uses a different flange than an HX40 but it is a full true 4" downpipe and already has (2) 3/8" grade 5 bolts welded in a "T" right behind the clamp to hold it on. So sledpullers shouldn't have any problems passing tech with it.

Also it has a gasket matched and polished exhaust inlet on the T-3 flange.

hm I wonder if a s465/s480 twins combo would be good...wonder if anyones tried it...

I have a fresh rebuilt 62/71/14 waiting at E.D.

hmm....

I don't know if anyone has ever tried, I think MADDOG had an S400/Big Brother setup at one point? And I think they are saying the S480 is about equal to a Big Brother..

Yes it is a Wastegated .8 AR T-3 S300 turbine housing that was bored to fit the 83/74 wheel and has an adapter plate machined out of tool-grade steel to mate the turbine housing to the S400 center section.

Brian Block, ktaCummins on here. He did the machine work when I first got it, and once I got it back from him I had it rebuilt at Turbochargers.com which is local for me.

Bump for a good guy.

I'd like to run it but I think a 64m will better suit my needs Chris.

Why do you want to trade? What don't you like about it as far as towing? Slow to spool? Does it surge? It's probably a screamer with the different sized fins that had to be filed but sound never hurt anyone!

I am having to rebuild my engine due to a dropped valve and I don't have the money to do anything other than a stock rebuild so I am downsizing so it will be better driving in traffic and towing (85% of the driving I do). Plus I am only shooting for 400-450hp after the rebuild.

I could tow a couple big ATV's with the turbo but it was on the verge of being too slow to spool with the load on my 7600lb truck.

It has never surged, and never been barked before. And it does sound AWESOME! It has the best turbo whistle of any turbo I have ever heard on a Cummins anywhere around here... And an FWIW if someone wanted a new comp. wheel for it (even though I had no issues with the one on it) E.D. sells the standard 65mm wheel for $175 and the ETT for I think $225. Like I said I had it rebuilt by Turbochargers.com who garunteed me that the little bit of filing they had to do would not make a difference and it would be just fine.
