Well last night went to a county fair and got lucky enough to hook first in the class. Started out really good on the line was building boost god finally and got to 25psi and was about to let out on the brakes and go then BAM. Then that was followed by some clanking. Tore up some stuff not sure what all yet can't get it in garage due to the 3 inches of rain we had last night.

Guess I have time now to get some other things done around here.

Did you have any loops or u joint shields?

Yeah I have them but we took them off for a little while to make duplicates of them for another truck that the guy in the picture has. I can guarentee you they go back on most likely with a full sheild around it so it don't happen again.

Yes they must be strong or something else caused it to spin like that. I still even have the stock output shaft in. The billet one is sitting in the garage but looks like it will go in since I'll be waiting on parts to get here.

I guess I just never expected to do it to the front drive shaft. If I was going down the track and started bouncing maybe but not getting it spooled at the line. I wasn't the only one to break last night. BLOWINSMOKE2 (Ron) broke his Tcase in his '05 and front driveshaft. Dave Justison in the CornFeed truck broke his front driveshaft again.

Do you think the Driveshaft broke and it put a hole in the Tcase? Or??

On Rons not it looked like it just seperated a little and started leaking and only 2wheel peel for him.

If any body has a driveshaft that they don't need I would be willing to take it off your hands for the right price.

I think 25 psi on a CR is a little high, if you think of the torque that is being produced on stock driveline parts your just asking for trouble.

That is about where it starts to go really good. Like I said it is where I was about to let out of the brakes. Usually it walks thru them and then hesitates at 20psi for a few feet. Still trying to learn how to get it out of the hole as hard as I want. Its a little hard getting the S400 up to snuff with a tight convertor.

That's the first time I've ever heard of a CR breaking the front drive shaft. But, I come off the line im my manual with whatever feels right, always above 20psi, sometimes 30psi. I'm of the opinion it'll either break or go and I don't care which. I guess I should be looking for a spare now too.

That is the second one I know of in about 2 weeks. Both were auto trucks and in the 25psi range at launch and still not moving.

A manual truck is probably harder to be on the brakes as hard.

I wonder if your front brakes clamp down tighter than the rear so the rear drive shaft takes up less of the load when sitting at the line and all torque is being held by the front drive shaft.

How many miles on your rear end, rear drive shaft, etc. If the rear has more play than the front drive components, you'd think the front would take the brunt of the torque load when sitting still building boost.

I think i have liek 57000 miles on the truck. It was kind of a bad deal. Well whatever it breaks fix it. I love it next year it will be my 95 12V that gets it all. Wish I could have seen it go down the track.

There have ben a few CR breakage the last few weeks around here all of us over 700 I believe so we fix fit and go on.

Ron aint having a good year he is always breaking stuff seems like. shure the tires he is running aint no help!!!! :poke: :hehe: :hehe:
