Well after 6 months of building it, today was the day it started!:rockwoot:

I'm still waiting for my turbo to come back, but Redneck6.0L brought a modified 66mm VGT down from Fort McMurray. (He was down this weekend setting new records...I was just videoing it.)

Gotta thank Eric at Innovative Diesel for rushing out a tune for me to get the truck running on such a short notice.. Thank You Eric!!!:bow::thankyou2:

I do have a couple of issues to fix before I can run the truck hard though...One of them is to get my turbo back, cuz this modified 66mm does NOTHING to clean up Josh's (Spartan Diesel) 200cc injectors.:st::st::st:

It's just fantastic that Shawn let me use his turbo until mine comes back...Aren't forums great??:rockwoot:

Thanks Shawn!!!:Cheer::thankyou2:

glad to hear man! i'm sure it's gonna be a blast to drive! can't wait for vids and pics!

congrats thats awesome man! lets talk more about this "modified" 66mm turbo?

and whats up with modding the stock 03 turbo?

It's not my turbo. It belongs to either Shawn, or Tyler. They brought it down with them for me to use until mine comes back. (They both came down from Fort McMurray to race this past week end in Medicine Hat.)

All I know is that it has a 66mm compressor wheel in it...If Shawn or Tyler want to tell people about it, so be it, but I know nothing about it. I don't even think it's a '03 turbo, so please don't assume it is.

I thought that turbo was a VGT-HO from Elite, but that would mean it has a 68mm compressor wheel.

No, this is a different turbo.

I won't have any video for awhile...trucks down with some injector problems.
(When, oh when, is this bad luck gonna end??????):bang:bang:bang:bang

Still haven't got my turbo back yet either.....:bang:bang:bang:bang

My wife...yeah, she's a little more than:mad:

i didnt mean it like that dude, ive just been hearing all different things from people about modding up this stock 03 turbos. either way awesome job on getting your truck running!

I didn't mean for my reply to sound too negative either. (If it sounded like that...sorry)
I just didn't want people to think that this was my turbo that was modified.
It's not mine, and I was just told that it had a 66mm wheel on it.

I could only get about 30 psi boost out of it, and the temps went past 1600*, so I backed oout of it. Looked in the mirror as I was doing that run, and yeah...there is NO WAY a stock turbo should be run with these injectors.

whats up with the sticks,ivan?

Bad miss on 2, erratic miss on another 2.

Waiting for Josh to get back to me.

I had Shawn check on Saturday for which injectors were bad, and he said that one was dead, and another was missing.

I took my truck to the dealership yesterday to have the air conditioning recharged, and asked them to scan it to tell me for sure which injectors where bad....they said 2 were missing bad, 2 more were missing erratically.

Just to be clear, I left Josh a phone message, an E-mail, and a PM on Saturday night. He said he was sending 2 injectors out to me right away.:rockwoot::bow::Cheer:

Problem is...I wasn't at the dealer till Monday morning, and found that I had 2 more bad ones, (4 total), late Monday afternoon.:bang

So now Josh has to send out 2 more...

I just hope I get it back up, and running before I go back to work now...

just sucks you are so far away..is it troublesome getting stuff like that into canada or is it no problem?

we all know it can happen with any injectors..good luck getting it going!

Well, when my turbo came back the first time, it was wrong. And I sent it back the most expensive way there was..."Garranteed to be in their hands tomorrow at 10:30"......I sent it on Tuesday, they never got it till Thursday afternoon.
It appears that "Customs" wanted to hold it for awhile....:bang (Theres that damn "Murphy" guy again...)

I know Josh will make it right...He has helped me out alot with this build.:Cheer:

Damn Ivan, that sucks, good luck. Did they find the bad injector doing a power balance test? Hopefully Josh makes it right. This has become a very high profile build for them.

If you sent it guaranteed next day, I would complain and get your money back. Anytime they (UPS or FedEx) miss delivery time for us, I have my wife call and let them have it. We always get our money back. We sent a 60lbs box next day the week of Christmas to Colorado. The airport was snowed in so it took an extra two days to get there. No Charge :) not to mention all of the other packages that happens to.

The manager at UPS said "We can only guarantee next day IF customs does not hold onto it for too long".....
So I asked again:"why did I pay for next day shipping, when you said it was Guaranteed to be in their hands the next morning, and it never got there till 2 days later?"

Long story short...I will NEVER send anything by UPS ever again.

It appears that FED-EX is taking their sweet-a$$ time with their "Next Day Air" on my turbo that was sent out on Friday...:bang
