Finally Got It Running!!!

they all suck, but UPS has left the worst taste in my mouth. Mainly due to a driver I used to have, but that's all it takes. one or two really bad experiences.

I know what your saying....

I mean, jeez I wanted the FASTEST delivery I could get, and I paid for it, then UPS blames the custom's officers....nice cop-out.:kick:

yup, I had something overnighted, I needed it to get the truck running so that I could leave for vacation! literally sat by the front window of our appartment ALL DAY. Never heard the delivery truck. After delivery cutoff I called and they said that delivery had been attempted but nobody was home.

I was LIVID!!!!!!

The next day the dude came by late morning, and of course I heard the truck (as ususal) so I went downstairs and saw him with a dolly with my stuff... he was going to the wrong building!

I was like "wrong building, slick, remember you attempted delivery yesterday?" (these appartments were individually numbered, no way you could mix up and go to the wrong door)

he told me he wasn't the driver the day before, and I told him to tell whoever was that he was a lazy, chicken **** mofo.

I called dispatch afterwards and the lady told me that he WAS the driver! LOL! she probably shouldn't have given that info, but...

anyhow, we moved across town, and I receive tons of UPS shipments from work, and my new driver is awesome, but I still refuse to ship out via UPS

cool thanks for clearing that up Ivan, does that thing smoke like a freak train???

Not quite like a "Freak" train, but yes, a freight train...

I started it this morning, and pulled into the shop. Had a look around the ground, and there was this black stuff swirling around with the wind...I reached down and picked some up with my fingers....it was raw black coal dust. It was EVERYWHERE!!!!

My truck did that about every cold start, just dont park w/ the tip pointed at the wife's car:badidea:.

No, this is a different turbo.

I won't have any video for awhile...trucks down with some injector problems.
(When, oh when, is this bad luck gonna end??????):bang:bang:bang:bang

Still haven't got my turbo back yet either.....:bang:bang:bang:bang

My wife...yeah, she's a little more than:mad:

who are you waiting on to get your turbo back from ? ?

what problems are you having with your injectors ? ? i have josh's 200's in also, and the first weekend i installed them one of them had a nozzle break in half and go thru the motor...

but for the record, my 66mm NONVVT turbo WILL clean those injectors up at 45psi !!

The manager at UPS said "We can only guarantee next day IF customs does not hold onto it for too long".....
So I asked again:"why did I pay for next day shipping, when you said it was Guaranteed to be in their hands the next morning, and it never got there till 2 days later?"

Long story short...I will NEVER send anything by UPS ever again.

It appears that FED-EX is taking their sweet-a$$ time with their "Next Day Air" on my turbo that was sent out on Friday...:bang

i won't use fedex ever again, they charged me extra for next day delivery, and then another fee on top of that for saturday delivery...

on saturday while waiting for my package, they inform me that the county i was in does not even have a saturday office open and there is not even saturday delivery available to that zipcode... when i asked them why they charged me two separate times to have it there on saturday they had no answer and we mysteriously got disconnected...

did josh do anything to help you with the labor on the injectors ? ?
he sent me a new nozzle to replace the one that went out right away, and as far as the "missing" how long have they been in ??
go easy on it for a while, because mine "missed" for almost a week until they finally settled in and started running smooth.. although the truck will NOT idle smoothly at all until completely warmed up (about 20minutes) and don't even think about driving the truck until it has warmed up all the way !! but once warm these sticks make some ungodly Horsepower ! !

Turbonetics has it. I contacted Kevin and Brian at Black Widow Diesel, and I gave them all the specs for my engine, and what I was going to do with it. Brian Bunting got Brian Cerny of Turbonetics involved, and soon my turbo was being shipped to Turbonetics to be re-configured as per Brian Bunting's specifications.
The problems started as soon as I shipped my turbo, Brian Cerny went on vacation, and no one at Turbonetics seemed to know what to do to the turbo, so they went through it, and changed the turbine A/R from a .68 to a .58:bangand shipped it back. The invoice said they upsized the compressor to a 68mm, but, it seemed to measure the same 61mm to me...:bang:bang
So, after a couple of calls to Black Widow, and to Turbonetics, I had it shipped back the very next day. (Brian had JUST got back from holidays too)
Just waiting for it to come back again.

Problems I am having with the injectors...I guess I got one of the last sets before Josh started using brand new nozzle tips. He wanted them all back from me, so he could make it right.:Cheer:

Jeezzus....I think I cry if I had a nozzle break off, and take a tour of the inside of the cylinder walls, piston tops, valves, exhaust, turbo, etc...

What did you do??? How much damage was there??

What do you mean when you say: "Did Josh do anything with the labor on the injectors?"
Who's non VGT are you running? What size? (Besides 66mm) PM if you want to.:Cheer:

well these were made with all new nozzles. josh sent me out a new nozzle the next day to rebuild the injector with. i still have the old nozzle (at least what's left of it ) and it came apart right at the line where the nozzle holes are sort of like it perforated it first..
as far as doing anything about the time/labor/hassle of having to tear it down again 3 days after installing them, well he hasn't answered any of my emails or calls since then and all i did was ask him to cut me a deal on an EGR delete/intake manifold kit to make up for it. all in all, by the time i got it all sorted out, i had spent more money redoing them than i originally spent when i purchased them ! !

i'd love to get my hands on that .68a/r housing if you're not needing it anymore :) but i don't think it would fit my turbine...

i mean, did josh do anything to make it up to you for your time and trouble/money of having to do it over again ??

my turbo is from chris at river city turbos. it's a 66mm compressor with 71mm turbine. i have an .85a/r housing that will spool up about 3 days after you mash the pedal ~!

I'm Sorry...

Something I need to clear up here...:rules:

It was brought to my attention that the turbo that Shawn, and Tyler brought down with them from Fort McMurray was a "dud" on my truck.

Yes, I did say that it did nothing to clear up the smoke from Josh's injectors, BUT, you have to realize that in total, there were 4 bad injectors in the truck at the time. (4 injectors leaking fuel, all the time)

Twin turbos couldn't clean up the fuel that was going into the engine...even with nitrous...

I would like to appologize to Shawn, and Tyler...I did not mean to slam the turbo that you guys brought down for me to use. (Just to get my truck running)
I didn't mean for it to sound that way, but after re-reading my posts, it does sound kind mean...I'm sorry.
I would like to add that AFTER I pulled the injectors out, I pulled the turbo off, and found absolutely EVERYTHING covered with soot...the intake, the turbo, the entire top of the engine, and the firewall.
The exhaust collector was on and tight, but obviously, not tight enough. So another reason the turbo had trouble was the exhaust leak on the drive side.

Again, I apologize for my comments, and I thank you both again for letting me use your turbo to get my truck running when you didn't have too.:thankyou2:

Ivan

not a problem, sorry we couldn't help with your injector trouble. make sure you get your butt up to the black out and all will be well

Thanks Shawn...
I'm trying to make it there, but I can't seem to get ahold of anyone at Spartan Diesel, to let me know when I can expect the injectors back.
I know they got my injectors on Monday the 28th, but I can't seem to get any reply from Josh, or Matt.
Wondering if I should buy Robts' stock injectors, and get another modified set coming from somewhere else.:bang

Communication is EVERYTHING...

Ummmm...that's called a bad spool valve. You still have injector problems I'd say.

most of the time spool valves dont stop..atleast mine haven't..rough idle anytime..
