Firing Order...

I saw a Mercedes once, not sure what model, went 123654. Eventually broke the crankshaft I assume because the firing order put uneven stress on it. That's why I always assumed we have the firing order we do today.

Macks are always goofy. V-oriented countershafts in the tranny, unit injectors that have the plungers mounted on the side of the block with the cam. IMHO they're just about half retarded, but they seem to work.
 
We have a Clark that has the following firing order:

145236

Course that is a gas fired, two-stroke industrial engine. But its an inline 6!
