First hooks on the new motor! Franklin Indiana

Finally got some hooks on my new motor, tire, & gear setup in Franklin Indiana Saturday.

Dave Goerend has got the LOOOOOSE converter thing down pat, I can spool this TN charger with NO issues at all now, VERY happy!

We had some issues with the alternator which are now fixed. I have TOO MUCH fuel and should have injectors Thursday.

The first hook was made with a 100 plate full back, with the AFC full back. The Star wheel was at 25% back of full forward.
I figured all I could do was tighten the starwheel up to reduce fuel for the next hook, so I tightened it to 50% back of full forward. As you can see, it made a difference.
the third hook, I tightened it completely and it improved again, but I botched the end of the hook as I was worried about running the battery dead as I waited in line, I didn't have the TC lockup switch in my hand, so I didn't unlock in time.

I never hit 3rd gear. Once I get the fuel reduced I should be set and be ready to bridge the 40+ foot gap between me and first place in street. It should be an awesome season!
 
Why no 3rd gear? Looks like you should have been in 3rd by 75ft.

The fuel was putting the fire out so bad that I couldn't get any RPM out of it.. It came up nicer the second and third hooks, but not nearly enough to hit third. If you listen during the first hook, I do hit 3rd but jump back down to second shortly thereafter.

Looking good, spools darn fast. You gonna run any of the local stuff, or is mainly a big time puller now?

Thanks Kyle!! I love to rub it in about the ugly black rims every time I see an old pic of them! :hehe:
 
Looks like just a tade bit more smoke this year garret. Wish I had ours done to come up to your event this weekend

Mike's, you have 1 more weekend to work on your truck, get it done!

This weekend is Indy, ours isn't until the following weekend.

Hope to see you this summer as well!
