Fluid dampr or ATI

summit or jegs. timing tape. gotta measure damper diameter,, easy money

To be brutally honest. I hope your pulling in a very weak super street class. Otherwise your going to be in for a year full of frustration, spending money, and carnage. Its going to be very hard to have a good time. I would really reconsider or check the competition at the first pull before you hook to the sled.

Well since I'm building a Power Stroke for the SS class, you could probably concider it a weak class. LOL At least he'll probably beat me. But like he said, it's a new org, and we decided that with the rules we needed to follow, and what we wanted to see on our trucks, SS was the class we went with.

Down here in TX, it's a whole different pulling world. There's not many true SS diesels that we know of, and the ones that there are, getting beat by them is okay. LOL And like Matt said, we aren't in it for the money. We just want to build our trucks the way we want, and still be able to pull safely within the rules. And most of all have fun. That being said, all of our trucks are pullers only, not daily drivers. So our focus is first, all the safety stuff, loops, blankets, balancers, air/fuel shutoffs. After that, it's just a matter of what we want to try powerwise. If/when we get beat, it's no big deal, we just wanna pull and have fun. And if we pay our entry fee, and pass tech, it's grins from there on.:Cheer:

Thats the best attitude to have. Best of luck to you guys.:rockwoot:

Thanks man. We are gonna need all the luck we can get. And I'd just like to say Thank you from our whole crew down here. It's always inspiring and fun to watch videos and see pics of you and the other guys. Trucks like yours and all the other big dogs in the pulling world give us motivation to keep the shop open late. And honestly without help and info from guys like you, BBD, and the countless others that have paid their dues in this sport, we would be lost. Since we got started in this quest not to long ago, yall have been priceless when it comes to info and insite. So from the Death Row Diesel crew, Thank you.

I agree with 2tone... A VP SS truck is going to be the huge underdog. I guess if everyone broke you might have a chance, but I wouldn't expect much. With the parts you mentioned I wouldn't go over the 2.6 class... Hell, you could make a killer workstock truck with a good turbo, LOL

Well I appreciate the kind words. I am flat out lucky to be where I am with my puller. Noway have I spent near the time and money as most have. I just decided after my 1st year of pulling with my 2.6 truck. To much was never enough and the cheapest way to get there was to go ahead and build a super street truck. Even if that called for sitting out a year or 2. Xtreme Diesel came along and gave a helping hand and got some quality parts for the truck. I am very thankful. You ever need any help let me know. I don't know a whole lot but I know a whole lot of people that do!:rockwoot:

Thanks for all the help guys when I crater a motor then I'll build a hell of a truck might take me several years of saving but I'll get it done lol thanks again

You guys can get timing tape from Dan @ FluiDampr on here - he's good folk and FluiDampr is a great company. :Cheer:

Nothing that I know of. It definitely counteracted something when my flywheel bolts started backing out.

After having an ATI dampner, the only con to having one is that it won't fit with your stock fan like the Fluidampner will... You either have to make an adapter or run electrics. Or no fan like me for the winter, LOL

A rare handful of really strong VP trucks still makes the vast majority underdogs for a SS class. How many VP trucks out there run a single over 66mm? Most of the high HP VP trucks are either running twins or 66-71mm turbos and/or spray. Just sayin'... Limited to 4K rpms and the fuel a VP can put out hurts the VP's... A CR can make up for lack of RPM's with tons of fuel and still make power. A 12V, well they have fuel and RPMs :D
