What size are folks drilling and tapping the freeze plugs under the head to?

I have access to lots of taps, and if they are just using NPT plugs I am sure I can do it alot cheaper.

What is the cost on the Dr. P kit?

Triton and I spent a WHOLE day trying to find him some plugs like the ones that comes in the Dr. P kit...

Beat I remember we finally found someone that told us it was a 24mm / 1.5 pitch...

But for a painless (but a bit more expensive) option, just buy a Dr. P kit...Comes with the plugs and tap.....

BTW...All the sizes and numbers are removed by Dr. P...For obvious reason's.

We used a 7/8 nf tap and pipe plugs w/hydrolic sealer. Be very careful tapping them we almost went too far on one of them.

Call Mike Doss at 877-338-7373

Keep you from blowing the plugs on the 24V that are under the valve cover.

Coolant in the oil is bad!

what's the real benefit?

what ever you end up doing, you HAVE to use a tapered plug or it will leak. The Dr.P kit makes it real easy. Like Swole mentioned... it's just over a 7/8" hole so you basically have to go metric. Unless you really ream the hole out to 1".

Of course you can bore out the hole and use any plug and tap combo you want, but that would be a chance you'd be willing to take. The parts we put together are honestly very hard to find, and if just one tiny little factor is off, you'd sure wish you paid for the kit instead of ending up like Swole.

Lets see here:

$175 for the kit and the right parts--- VS. ---Do your own research on where and what parts to get, hope in one hand it works and hold $10,000 in the other hand for the new motor when it doesn't work...

You will be this guy :bang

So if you'd like a kit I'd like to get you hooked up with one. Tell you what, I'll throw in a CompD Special and have my guys sell it to you for $150, say you saw it on CompD!

Just the tap, it uses the existing the freeze plug hole, so you just tap it, and screw in the new plug. No drilling needed.
