I was wondering what front axle the mod trucks are running. I think they are running 106's up front but not sure. Just trying to put some parts together. Thanks

Scott, BBD has a 106 with SCS billet spool, axles, and hubs.

You going tube frame?

i've read that most have f106's and don't some of the factory framed trucks run 80's?

Can you explain that a little for me on the 80's? Which trucks would be running them?

Also, the GM military steer axles are quite common for the fronts in the mod trucks and you can get detroits and locking hubs for them.

Anyone know the weight of one of Mod's front axles???

Has there ever been a factory D80 front? I have heard mixed things about that and am unsure. I have seen a few of the GMC Kodiac's but its hard to tell without crawling under them if they are actually an 80 or a 70.

kodiaks all have a 70. some of the mods are running dana 60's in the front. most are running a f106 or a gm military axle. almost all of the factory frame trucks are either running a 60 or a custom 80 because the front center cetion on the 106 and the gm axle are in the center and it gets in the way of the oil pan with a factory chassis.

Just a diff cover thats hella tall and 80 cast into the web. Last two digi cams got stolen so i didnt bother with another one so no pics, but all the 5500 topkicks up here have the 80s, and the 4500s have the 70s.

Here are some older pics of the front axle in the truck we are working on now.
It's a GM military third member and knuckles with a SCS spool and axles, SCS hubs with drivers side lock out, all on a home made sheetmetal housing.
