Fuel return lines

Question? About the fuel lines, when changing to a bigger size does the return line have to be the same size?

When I did my AIrDog, I did the return from the injectors in 3/8 back to the tank.

Why not just leave it stock? Will it hurt anything?

i've read some forums where some guys don't do anything with the return line but not sure if that could be some of the problems with the aftermarket fuel pumps; your pumping all that fuel to the injector pump but really how much fuel goes back to the tank? Is it necessary to do anything with the return at all? While i'm underneath i would like to know!

depends on the pump - most aftermarket pumps ask for minimum 3/8 return from the regulator
this is because the pump needs fuel flow to cool as well as aleviate pressure on the pump

The return line from my airdog is 1/2inch, but I left the stock return line from the head. I don't see what the advantage is of making this line bigger.
