Fueling problem?

I have been trying to get my truck to run to it's full potential for quite some time now and feel that something is still missing. My truck really falls on its face after it hits over drive down the track and also when I lock the converter while sled pulling on a tight hooking track.

After I changed to a looser converter and grinded the foot in the AFC it helped a little but I feel it may still be lacking fuel on top to keep Rpms up after Over drive and lock up. Any input would be greatly appreciated, thank you

I feel 5 x 20s are a bit large for my 64 Would tightening governor springs as much as possible help at all?

Have you check your fuel pressure a WOT? What is your fuel pressure at idle with the raptor 150?

No I haven't Had a chance to hook it up yet but I do have the screw set to a half a turn out from being completely screwed in. I'm either leaning towards tightening the governor springs but not sure if it is going to help at all.

Knowing your fuel pressure readings @ WOT would help tremendously. Do that first. :Cheer:

the raptor cant keep up
chased this problem for a wile, after multiple pumps and combinations i got it figured out and running awesome now
custom FASS set up solved my issue

Alright if it's the raptor that's not keeping up what does everyone else use? I thought the raptor would be plenty but I do need to check fuel pressure to see if that is my problem

Is it because the raptor has a hard time siphoning from the tank? Would a fuel sump help this?

i know when i was running a max'd out 180 pump the stock lift pump did better than a AirDog II, went to 13mm pump and it was even worse

DTT Assassin pump with the AirDog II feeding it wouldnt keep up

custom twin FASS set up i gots now hold 85psi from idle to 5K RPM's, gained 133hp on the dyno and felt stronger on the street all the way to 5K rpm's

You could do what BigBlue does.. supplement that pump with another

So where is the best place to hook up the fuel pressure sensor so I cab get the most accurate reading

What size fass would work if I were to use it with the raptor

Just buy a Aeromotive A1000... and there bypass reg.. have one pump less lines and would look way cleaner
