Functional Hood Scoops!

If you look closely in the pic where the hood closes around the intake tubes. In the upper left hand corner is the stock air box.

I think those scoops are there only to throw cool air into the engine bay.

" never seen a truck done up like this " lol!

where are the scoops directing air????

That hood was made by a guy in Pocatello, Id by a guy named Doug Holdsfelt. He called them an Air Bulldog hood, as far as I know he quit making these about 5 years ago. They did have functional ram air that hooked up to the bottom of the stock airbox, they are fiberglass. I live in Nothern, UT so he wasn't too far away and there were several trucks in my area running these. They are pretty cool. That particular truck in the picture used to be really nice but ended up in the hands of a high schooler and as you can see it has been rode hard and put away wet more than once. Hope this helps.

Yeah there's precious few of those hoods out there since he made them one by one, kind of a prized possession. Looks like the website is still alive http://dpofutah.tripod.com/id39.htm

Doug Hofeldt is a terrific guy but he got out of it mostly since his back was giving him a lot of trouble. He also made an airdam, Dam Air that was pretty cool, it had a large opening used to direct air to the air box. I had one on my '01 that Doug installed when I stopped by his place, will post some pics I have on my PC at work tomorrow.

I don't like the way they look... I prefer cowl induction anyway, since there's a great source of high pressure air at the windshield crotch.

Saw these "spy hood pics on another forum just now" suppose to be available soon in figerglass and carbon fiber.
