gettin rid of my 24v for a 12v puller.

well.. this weekend's pull didnt go so well for me. something in the trans broke when i locked the converter. not sure if its the input or out put or what.. but something snapped.

i dunno. i just did it how the guy i got the truck from told me to. i wish he would have been able to go to the pull to gimme the tips on how this truck likes to be run. but he couldnt make it. im hoping its only the output shaft. it was stock. so.. im hoping thats what it is.

i know me too. ive got a friend comin up to get it and get it back to indiana on thursday. wanted to have it back before then but couldnt find anyone to come get it before then and my dads trailer is down with a bent axle.

probably just stock for now. since the pulling season is over ill probably just put a stock one in it till i can get back to work and afford a billet one.

I have heard some people say that if the output breaks all you have to do is pull the t-case and replace the ouput. I have also heard it gets metal inside the trans, (fluid and converter). I dont personally know.

thats what ive heard to. but id like some other guys who have had it break on them chime in. i figure if its as simple a fix as that.. then ill change it then take it back to dans and have it serviced. flush it all out and what not ya know.

You can just pull the tailhousing of the transmission off and replace it. Dont have to pull the whole tranny, and from what i have heard, it normally doesent hurt anything else when it goes.

I think you locked it way too early. Dont lock it until you have the charger spooled and it has shifted into 2nd gear.

i broke one this year, they usually dont hurt any thing else, just pull transfer case out, then the o/d unit off.
