Glowshift Gauges????

i have a set of glowshift gauges boost pyro and trans i love them the best 200 bucks i spent you cant beat their package deals and if your buying some fyi the coupon for 10%off is 08shipping

thanks alot for the discount and yea i could use the saving of cash but yeai am looking into getting them woooo!!!!!

Why even have a pyro then. If you keep going to temps like that, you're pyro will run really cool, because you won't have an engine anymore! Believe me...I know. Get some air to that thing, unless you just like to grenade engines!!

That was a long blast with no water up a huge 4 lane hill we have here...plus if I grenade it so what...just an excuse to build the motor. And for now I'm trying to break 600hp on #2 with a stock charger, so until my other projects wind down the stock turbo is staying in.

Has anyone else done a comparison as far as actual readings to what the GS gauges show?
I also don't want to ruin an engine though.

We just installed a set in the gf's truck. she didn't want to spend the money for good guages. We like them except the boost guage flutters like crazy. You need a snubber from Dieselmanor.com. The pyro seems to be normal at idle, at WOT Egt's seem to be in check but not sure. I like the way they light up during the day but no dimmer on them for night driving.

wire into the fuse that controls the lights for the dash and you be able to dim them that way. if its a 2nd gen, i can go check what fuse it is.

yea i was thinking the same thing, like my issipro guages, but then I think I'll lose the daytime lighting.

I installed a set in my Dads 24valve boost/pyro/fuel . One was bad out of the box sent it back and got a new one pretty quick. He likes them and for 200.00 for all three its a pretty good deal.

i say no. get a well known brand. X2 if you like running on the edge of meltdown.

you can't buy new pistons for the money you could be saving on junk guages!!

I've run the glowshift boost and pyro for 8 months or so now, egts on the edge occasionally (1400-1600) and its been fine, no probs. Pulled the head and none of the pistons were drippy.

Here's a self-serving tip for those on a tight budget:
Run ISSPRO EV² gauges for pyro and trans temp, and the "original" ISSPRO mechanical EV gauge for boost. If you shop around you can get them for a pretty decent price.

Here's my biggest reason for recommending them: temperature compensated pyrometer.

Conventional pyrometers just measure the difference in temperature between the probe tip and the leadwire end (typically at the gauge head). The industry standard is to calibrate on the assumption that the gauge head is at 70° F. In an enclosed cab on a hot day with a dark colored interior, a gauge can reach well over 170° F and will be very slow to cool off (the pods act as a good insulator). This will result in your pyro displaying a temperature over 100° F cooler than the actual temperature, in conditions where you are likely to see high temperatures. Because of this inherent inaccuracy, ISSPRO Performax and EV² pyrometers utilize temperature compensation circuits and show the actual probe tip temperature.

Has anyone tried or is using Glowshift gauges ??? Im looking into buying the oost 60#, pyro, and tranny temp, and well i couls use the save of money due to me being on a small budget so How are they, is it a good buy, wat are the goods and bads thanks....

i gotthem they are the cats ass i love them

I put a set in my little brothers cummins. I liked the way they looked but the fuel pressure gauge pegs as soon as you turn the key on so he has to send it back but the EGT and Boost gauge worked good and look good not exact color matches to factory gauges but look good also you can tap them into your dimmer switch and dim them as well so I have been told. overall if your looking for a more economical set of gauges I think they are a good set to go with. For most of the guys the possible 100 degree difference in the EGTs will never bother them for the rest of us you just remeber 1500 in 90 degree is really 1520 or so.

I have a set in my 96 12v, boost, pyro, and egt. I have always ran autometer and diprocol but these gauges were in the truck when i bought and so far so good so as long as they are working they will be staying.

ive got a boost and pyro in mine and like them just fine, boost doesnt "flutter" at all. Their mounting pod didnt fit too nicely for me though, if I would do it again i would buy Glowshift gauges and a different mounting pod or pillar.
