Ok update since this has added Deborah's health to it. She got out. But had to go back to the hospital for a night. The drain tubes were draining too much and it wasn't a clear fluid. Spent a night in the hospital to flush the incision and run a course of antibiotics. Restapled with closer staples to help keep out infection. She is now back at her mom's house. She has a feeding tube through her belly button since she can't eat solid foods for a little while. The good news is that the feeding tube has helped the healing of the connection of the intestine to the stomach. It will be another week if all goes well before she gets her staples out and is allowed to eat semi normally again.
I know everyone says a thread is useless without pics, but im not going to post them. There is a video of the surgery. She was shown the video and she told me her intestines were outside of her body and you could clearly see where they had entangled themselves and had basically twisted themselves shut.
The doctor told her after 4 weeks of this, your body becomes septic and you have a slow and painful death if nothing is done immediately. Its symptoms show up as persisting lower back pain and not being able to keep any food down.
She has a visiting nurse that comes 3 times a day to give her the IV antibiotics, feed her, change the bandages and give her some pain meds. She has to wear a brace to keep her abdomin from flexing too much. Everything is progressing well. Its been a while getting through this. I appreciate everyone's support on this.
