What kind of tires do you have on the truck? I had Maxxis Buckshot Mudders and thats what it looks what u might have from ur Avatar. Any way i had them on my truck and the last half of the tires life they wear very uneven and the create like a rumble strip feeling when so u slow down especially under ten miles an hour. When u run ur hands over them u can see that they have a wear pattern that is not even in any direction. I know it wasnt alignment and obviously its not the easy for every one to balance larger tires. As the condition of the tire got worse so did the noise and vibration. When i put new tires on it all went away.... Just my $.02

the tires are a cheap set of adventuro M/T's (GTradial) that i put on just to get through the winter...i believe i put them on in August

Warped Rotors. If they are hot from a lot of braking and then you hit a cool puddle of water it could cause them to warp. I had a set warrentied on my '99 truck at the 10K mark. You could only feel it when braking. The slower you go the worse it shook. I'd place $.02 it is one or both of your rotors. I got into a cussing match with them becuase they warrantied the rotors but charges me $200+ for the brake job. I was mad, mad, mad.

im thinking rotors are the culprit....

back to uneaven wear on the tires, why would the vibration go away if the pavement was wet??

I wonder how to test the rotors for flatness without removing the dang things? I wish I could tell ya.

i gave it the ole finger test and it felt like there was a high spot in the rotor towards the top - front and back

i was at my buddy's shop when i had the tire off looking at the rotors and he told me they were shot...

Well....that isn't good news but at least you found the problem. I've earned my beer for the day! :D

Kyle I just had my 99 on the hoist Friday night and Saturday morning and took care of all the neglected front end parts. All 4 ball joints, inner axle shaft joints, axle shaft seals, wheel bearings, rotors, calipers, pads along with the front drive shaft rebuilt and balanced. At least the Ring and pinion still looked good with good pattern and the bearings looked great. It now drives better than at any point in the 50,000 miles ive owned it. Well worth the $750 I spent.

chris, all of the following items (give or take) u metioned were replaced about 30,000 miles ago when i t-boned a van that pulled out in front of me.

it turned out there was a lot of debri's that collected on the rotors so they were cleaned and the steering was tightened a little and the problem is solved....

now i just need to find a way to get traction with the new turbo....
