on my next motor i'll have the need for one
Tony R said:a hand throttle pump is only going to be good on a rsv conversion pump which you remove the govenor on the back of the p pump and which takes some where up to 20% of the engines power to spin you could do it on a regular one but no great benifit would be seen power wise hand throttles are for a direct linkage to the rack and alot of rpms to run down the track hope this helps
zstroken said:20%?? Isn't that number a little high? I would buy that running the total pump might eat up 20% but don't think the govenor setup eats that much.
That would be 140HP on a 700HP engine is going just to the govenor, not counting what is needed to actually do the work of pumping the fuel.
Normaly it is push. When you set it up you want your arm in the locked straight position,so if the truck does something funny such as bounce or anything you can stay in control of the throttle.I have seen them used in a pull type manner but not very often.JerrodGlover said:My question is push or pull on the hand throttle? Whats the norm with those with one?
Roger what would a d-max need a hand throttle for?Roger Zeedyk said:Where do you buy the hand throtle? Or do you make your own?

You did ruin it.But I think every good puller has ruined a truck or 2.I still have a 2001 with 51,000 miles laying behind the shop that was chopped up for a puller. Now Im lookin for another driver and I piss and moan about how much they are going for.Tcolesanti said:Alot of people say I ruined that truck, but I like the creature comforts.....
