What is the deal with the cold starts in the Morning? when the SCT is off (back to stock) it's not as bad, with it programed it's real bad sometime it takes two or three times to turn over and get going. And then it takes at least 10 to 15 Min to warm up.

Anybody have the same issues with this or what could it be????? Not throwing any codes either :bang

Any help would be great Thanks in advance Diesel Guru's

it could be several things..

hows the batteries?

could be a lazy injector..

I would normally say take the tuner out..but you did that..

does it smoke any while trying to start it?

what oil are you running?

Oil is Val Preamium blue recomended by doug at gogo.
batteries are fine .
does not smoke at all

just a real ruff idle you can tell the engine is shaking

good oil..

sounds like..by the rough idle..a stuck spool valve.

so its rough at idle..then smooths when driving?

sorry..

the spool valve is located inside the injector.

also known as a lazy injectors

does it totally smooth out? or just gets better?

i would say injector..

do you have a good dealer? if so..take it there and let them hook it up to the IDS and see if you have a bad injector..if you are under 100k its still covered under warranty.

thanks for your help i'll be calling you when it's time to do egr delete

the dealer is telling me that their is a Flash that they will do to see if it will fix the start up issues ... what do you know about this flash

umm..there are new flashes available seems like each week..try it..see what it does.. might change your strategy.. but vivian can fix that..

i guess will have to wait and see. as far as the dealer goes things were better a year ago now it's a pain and it has to do the problem before they will start changing out parts. so if you know of a more flexable dealer in texas that would be great...

off hand I do not..I know Toby lives in TX..and he has a good tech..dunno where he is at though..I know he was in Lubbock..

my tech is originally from TX..I will see if any of his buddies are still at the dealer.

generally if its takin several cranks to fire, and when it starts and its not missing .
You have a high pressure oil leak somewhere.. Sometimes its just the o-ring on the dummy stand pipe, or a STC connector.

do you have the icp in the rear or front of the engine? and Is the high pressure oil pump cover cast iron or aluminum ?
