Has anyone mated a 273 too 5600?

Getting pieces sorted out for my truck, Ford 273 to 5600. My question is, that I have always seen the manual version used 271 with a 5600, is there a reason why?

Preference is the only reason I could see. Dodge puts a 273 behind the G56 without an issue.

I have one behind mine. Same internally as a 271, save for the shift components.
