Head Gasket Blew

I was just saying when that happened to me last year it was my pump. I mentioned that its typically oil because I know of three trucks in the last week to include mine that blew right in the same area and it was oil that was leaking. I wasnt saying it can only be oil it has just been my experience so far.

Either way he got lucky

Don't risk it. An engine isn't worth it.

You know you have a problem. A potentially dire problem. Don't drive it, don't "hope." Fix the thing right and fix it soon.

You may get LUCKY with this... But it is a $6000 bet.

^^^^^^ x2

i "ignored" mine for a long time.....

i'm still not totally sure with this motor...

always shoppin for a good core, crank and rods.... just in case.

My HG is good. Im sure it will blow sooner than later, and if it does before winter than i will fix it then. But in other words, it aint leakin so why fix it when i cant afford the down time on it? Now when winter comes and Im drivin the plow truck anyways it wont hurt nothin to tear into it and fix it before it happens...

But once again, to everyone that commented, thank you.
I will keep everyone informed with what is to come.

Thanks all, Smitty

The time is coming... As soon as i get everything together (parts, tools ect.)
Any tips?

Smitty

use a cherry picker to lift the head, and its nice to have an extra person becuase the head need tipped a lil bit to clear the cowl. a second person pushing down on the back of the head is all it takes. or a load leveler can adjust the angle of the head too...
