I am at a lost to determine where to by a head gasket for my motor which is bored .040 over. I have .075 valve clearence cut into pistons for my 188/220 cam since my head was milled a little.

Can I just run a stock thick gasket or do I need a custom head gasket?

Thanks fire power. Really appreciate it. Building and learning is all I do.

The book calls for .024-.028 piston protrustion IIRC. You have tons of room with a stock head gasket. Also, all head gaskets are supposed to be .040 already for bored blocks.

Of its a Hamilton you can't have any more than .018 protrusion, or you degree the cam for clearance, or run a thicker gasket. They come in. .010 and .020 thicker

But you have reliefs cut. So you are good to use a stock gasket

Oh wow, being half drunk is not good for my reading comprehension. I thought he was running a stock cam lol.

Hahahagaha.. drunk threading is the best.

I wasn't sure how the head was gonna pan out so I did reliefs just incase. I'll order my gead gasket this week.
Really appreciate it.

Can't wait to finally drive this thing and see what my weak links will be!!!

I have a .040 cummins mls gasket if you need one. I wound up having to use a modified 12 valve hg.
