Help-Broke Tap off in Yoke

once you get it out, id drill the strap holes out and put ubolts in their place.
 
I don't see the big deal with drilling out a tap that size. I've drilled out many of taps that helpers in the shop broke off in parts. Used the normal high speed drill bits that we used for everything else in the shop. Yes, sometimes I would break the tip off the drill and resort to an end mill.

Just my opinion, you don't have to take it to heart.. Though I really like the torch idea A LOT!
 
Tig welder!
Heat up the tap and keep puddle cool. Keep adding filler til you bring it out far enough to get vise grips on it. While still hot spray pb and it'll duck the tap smaller. Then wiggle and teist
I break a tap off in stainless at least once a week
 
No one uses tap extractors?
That's what I was about to suggest.

It's been 4 days, surely he has got the tap out by now, but who's way did he use?
