I'm running the Smarty TNT software (which fuels a lot on bottom) because the Smarty doesn't boost-fool enough, I have to run a boost fooler (which brings in more fuel on bottom)

Yes, I tried an MP8... it doesn't boost fool unless it's cranked way up, and I don't like increasing rail pressure for no reason.

Torque Management is on stock to cut bottom end fuel

I can't believe the maps are written for this much fuel w/ zero boost on the gauge at 1000-1500rpm... should I just unplug the boost fooler and live w/ the CEL?

Thinking about putting a TST on the truck and running something like the Standard Revo 3 or 5 for a base program and the timing curve and using the TST to dial in the bottom and top end fueling.

I want to eventually put injectors in the truck, but there's simply no way I could add injectors to my current fueling map...

this is an automatic truck w/ 34" tires... I'm thinking about trying one of the shift enhancer modules to try to stretch the gears out and induce kick-down w/ less throttle

thoughts/suggestions/experiences WELCOME!!!!!!

Hellmann cut me some adaptors to mount a manually adjustable regulator between the intake and MAP sensor. I used boost gauge to set it at 37psi max.
No boost fooler (you have it LOL) means no electronic BS to throw into the mix. With the MP8 off and RP on stock with the Smarty it'll make 58psi.
Once I roll the MP8 up for the extra RP it goes over 60....but that's on extra fuel alone, not more boost fooling.

I am curious what happens if you u put a solenoid blocking the map pressure reading, and hook the solenoid up to a hobs switch, so say at 10 psi the solenoid opens and allows you to read map, under 10 psi the switch is off and the computer sees zero boost.

The truck won't hardly move. I dialed my regulator down to closed just to see....it wasn't pretty. LOL

How in the heck do you expect to join the "I windowed my block" club if you cut your bottom end fueling. These tranny shop owners need to be able to send their kids to college too you know.

Try running one of our tunes that dont increase the fueling untill you are on boost say around 2000rpm

:hehe: Thanks for the laugh Ron! :rockwoot:

I make plenty of boost below 2000, I just don't need so much fuel w/ no boost on the gauge... I guess when/if I went w/ some injectors, cutting "extra" fuel mapping below 2000 would work well

Rich, that's a slick idea w/ the regulator! probably gonna have to get on that train

tranny shop owner has no worries... I can't make any torque if the fuel is burying the turbo and the truck looks like a rolling tire fire before the tranny finally kicks down :(

your tranny kicks down ??????? wow, I use the tow haul button to kick mine down...... unless I'm tryin to kill skeeters. but hey, the new 5 inch straight pipe seems to be helping spool a lil bit.

tow haul doesn't help kicking out of 3rd when I need 2nd or 1st... I can't drive around in tow/haul, or I'll bark the crap out of the turbo too often. I do lock out OD often enough.

I really just need to take some off-boost low RPM fuel out of it to keep from burying the turbo

I think the Banks products may be what you are looking for. Safe power and no smoke. LOL LOL

Unload Smarty, run TST on standard program, about 15* timing, and 3/1 or so. Decent power for DD on mine with less smoke.

I do get better mileage with Smarty PoD TNT/R, SW #5, TM=2, Timing 1 (stock) with PoD at about 60%. Mileage is very good, power is livable, but still smokes more than with TST by itself.

I had this problem really bad in my 05. So much to the extent that I was putting out the fire....stock cp3/injectors and STOCK turbo. This is one reason I ditched the Smarty.

It may not be a popular idea on the forums, but for the love of God try Crazy Larry. You just might be shocked.

from personal experience and eye witness accounts and several long dyno sessions, if i had an 06-07, id run a bullydog
