help pick a turbo

FWIW, I've done the 62/71 and 62/65, and the 62/65 is much nicer to tow with and will support a great deal more than 450hp

Alright ive been trin to come up with the perfect compilation of parts to buy to get my 12v running good. Heres what ive come up with. First my clutch is a SB3250 DD with witht the big input. My timing is set at 15.5* and would like to keep it there. im not sure what plate to run but right now i have a #11 in it and like it alright. But heres what the plan is Tell me if im way off and should spend money elsewhere. Im gonna buy a 4k GSK, SDX 5x12 injectors. but am stuck with what will be the best turbo. I am wantin a good all around setup for driving everyday and towing when i need too. I am also gonna stud the head but no o-rings as of now. What kind of power should i be putting down with the 5x12s and say a 0 plate. with whatever turbo i get? be it a super b, or some 62/71/14 or what ever?

It has something to do with what the op was asking.

yes i am wanting it to be as cool runnin and as pleasnt to drive as the stock turbo was. im leanin towards a 62/65/12 now with all the research ive done, what do yall think? should be good spool up, enough to cool it down when im on it hard and tow just fine, i believe with the set up with 5x12s and this turbo i should be round the 420 to 450 range! what do you folks think about the 62/65/12 d-tech?

So? I've done the same, and others have done even more. It sucked to tow, but it made the power.

how do you like your OFE clutch? is it grabby at all? I usally start out in 2nd gear with my stock clutch just wanderin how this clutch likes it? also is it loud or anything? and hows it holdin the power for you? i think im scrappin the dd idea and goin with a single for tranny longevity issues and noise issues. Thanks

I would get a dual disk the first time everyone i have known that bought a single had to get a dd later so do it once as it will save you in the long run and the dual disk will take plenty of abuse.

The OFE is great. Its held close to 1000ft-lbs. Not grabby at all. as with any single disk though it will slip if you don't get it 100% engaged before you put any power to it.

For a mild power truck that doesn't race or sled pull its great. But it won't take the abuse a DD will.
