help with a pulling set up

what injectors are you running BgBlDodge? I just noticed that me and you both have the same turbo. Pretty sure my gate is messed up on my turbo cause i shortened my acuator rod quite a bit and my boost didnt change at all. Maybe i should just send them my turbo and have them upgrade it to a 66/68/13 so i can still have the ss housing. Isnt the 13ss housing suppose to flow just as much as a cast 14 housing?

7x.012's right now. Bout 200hp.

It's supposed to flow as much. I've never noticed any difference in the way my turbo spools but it could have crept up on me.

Well I think a if the 68 flowed as much as a 71 then a 66/68/13ss would be an awesome turbo and still daily drive very good. I'm thinking that 220s would be a good match 240s might be a little much and be overfueled. What do you guys think?

I wish I could remember the specifics on why it flows more than the 68. It was interesting to say the least.

Is ED the only place that offers the 68 wheel? Sounds like it would be a good choice

That's the way it goes. Find a shop that has a successful pulling truck that runs a VP and ask them. Spend your money with a place and you'll get knowledge in return.

If I could explain it or remember how it was explained to me I'd tell ya. Especially since I'm in the same boat.

So the 71 flows like the 65 but spools slower while the 68 flows like the 73 but spools faster.

The 68mm and 73mm use the same turbine contour both being 10-blade. The 65mm and 71mm use the same turbine contour, the 65mm being 11-blade, and the 71mm being 10-blade.

Sorry for ignorance but how does this make the 68 wheel better trying to understand it but not sure if i do. Also i'm told you can make me a sweet set of injectors..:rockwoot:

So the 68 will make similar power and spool quicker than the 71 wheel if I'm reading this correctly.

^^Yea someone said JD offered the 68 wheel but i figured i would send my current turbo in to have upgraded.

I'm gonna call ED back on Monday and see what they have to say. While they are swapping my 62 to a 66 maybe I'll have them swap the 71 to a 68.

BgBlDodge if would please pm on how much ED is charging you. Im just trying to get an idea. You changing your injectors out or not?

Chris @ ED sent my new 66/68/13ss with race cover out yesterday.
I'll let you know something when i get it on.

ok im gonna bump this back up and hopefully get a few more responses. As some of you know i am going to be p pumping my truck here in the near future, i had planned on going with twins but i dont think i will have the funds for twins as of now so im going back to a 66/68/13ss from ED talked to chris today and he said it should be a good charger for me once i get my swap done. He said if i put a different cam in which i plan to do along with a turbo sock and manifold blanket spool up should be very similar to a 62. So i thought that would be pretty sweet have a 66 spooling like a 62. Im gonna be running DDP250s as of now and plan on getting and II 12mm dragon fly street pump. What does everything think of this set up? I think it should be a good combo once completed. Where should i be at HP wise, any ideas?
