how can you tell when?

how can you tell when the front seal is leakin on the fuel pump? the case is clean around the gear and the dip stick has black and a clear spot at the top of the oil.i ask this because im gettin air in the system and tryed bleedin the system but no change just crankin and crankin.all the lines are tight including all the lines from the air dog and the return but still lettin air in somewhere thats why im thinkin its thepump bottom.

get a piece of paper towel and put a drop of oil from the dip stick on it, and if there is diesel in the oil it will have 2 rings on the paper towel. One bigger than the other.

ok so i just tried that and i got the ignital drop area and then it just spreads out no change in color or nothin
