How is everyone running their oil drains on twins?

I know two people that used a air chisel with a pointed punch on the end, punched a hole through the pan. Put in a 90 like source sells and sealed it with sealant, one used JB weld.

TOMTOM is one of the ones who did it, you could pm him for a better explanation.

This does work well.

I ended up getting a 3/4 NPT-3/4 Barbed fitting. Is that too big of a hole to make? The return line off the HT3B is 3/4 or 7/8, so thats kinda a big hole to make. Hole saw maybe? Thread it in with some JB weld.

I think I am going to weld a female threaded 3/4" NPT 45* elbow onto my oil pan when I take it all apart. That way I can just put a plug in it while I have a single and if I switch to twins I can put a 3/4" NPT x 3/4" barbed fitting in.

Are you going to tap the pan bers? Or put a conduit lock washer on the other side somehow to "clamp" the pan to the fitting?

Well I drilled it out with a 1" hole saw. Kinda too big, 7/8 would have been perfect, so I threw some JB weld around it and I'm going to let it set till tomorrow. It's not perfect, but it's all I can do with a one man show in New Mexico.

I've got a few items keeping me from having everything buttoned up tonight, I'm going to run to Home Depot to see if I cant get a decent set of channel locks for the HX35 snap ring and an adapter for to lengthen the HX35 oil feed line.
