How many people actually daily drive 220hp+ injectors?

I am getting fed up with waiting 5 minutes for twins to spool with the 90hp sticks. I have been interested in mach 7's for awhile, but I am worried about smoking out the road too much. With the smarty on any setting above stock, the truck already smokes pretty bad. I have heard that a lot of 150, 200, and 220hp sticks smoke less than sticks in the 100hp range. I would like feedback from people who actually have 220hp and bigger on their trucks to share their experience with them and if they would recomend getting the same size if they had to choose again.

What twins do you run? Mach 7's should be okay......

my 150s smoke pretty good but are also manageable!! they say anything over 200s arent so manageable but i would like to go a little bigger!!

Going from 90's to 220's....wow, bet you''ll feel that.

I would try to get ahold of Don M. and let him know your setup.

I know, I know easier said than done.

they tend to buck a bit more, I had a set of ddp 220 in my last truck 99 Dodge with hx-40 at first and it could stay smoke free if you were not buried in the throttle. With twins you should be able to keep it even more smoke-less, although the more fuel in the more smoke out in theory anyway. Good luck and you will like the power change, make sure you have enough fuel support to push 220's they will suck it dry even with a stout pump and lift pump of most sort.

I run a 6 x 16 daily(30% bigger than a 7 x 12), haze and constant smoke emissions, up to cruise speeds. Driveability is great on these. 5th gear at 25 mph through town, no problems. Twins, won't clear them up, great spool up.

I have S300/S400 twin setup. I got the larger exhaust housing with the S300. I am also wondering about what kind of lift pump is needed for 220hp sticks? I know my 95 FASS is much too small to support that much fuel, but at the same time, I don't want to wreck my vp either with too much pressure. I have been doing all the hop up mods myself lately, so I am not really experienced with what sizes are right for matching lift pumps, fuel lines, and injectors. I would really like to go with 220's they would be just right for cruising with stock ecm software.

my 220 are really clean and great on the street, way cleaner than the 150hp jammers on my other truck.

My 200hp DDP's are very driveable with little smoke. Until I turn my tst on then its a whole diff story.

My 11 holers had a slight haze every where I went but it wasn't anything bad. Just a very light, thin wisp of smoke. The one's I'm running now don't have any smoke at all and they are rated up to 200hp.

What brand? I was looking at the Jammer 150's but do not want the smoking at light throttle. A bunch of the injectors claim fuel mileage increase but at what size does that go away?:pop:

I've driven all of Don's big injectors a lot as I was the one who helped develop them. The Mach 5's are the best of the big injectors for driving. The 6's get a ***** more touchy and the smoke more a idle. The 7's are even more touchy and smoke even more at idle. With the 5's you can actually use cruise control without it being too jerky but the 7's are out of the question. The 7's seemed to loose just a bit of milage compared to the others too. On my truck we made around 616hp with the 5's, 632 with the 6's and 648 with the 7's. Without a box on the 5's made around 410, the 6's 430, and the 7's 450.

My 5.8's are real nice. Under load they will haze a bit. Cruising, they are smoke free, but at night you can see some haze in headlights behind you when rolling on the fuel. WOT they will turn day into night.

On the old motor (2001 ETH) they made ~528 uncorrected.

No idea where the new engine sits.

Interesting that you say that. I've driven and ridden in a couple of trucks with mach 6's and they exhibited none of those characteristics. No smoke at idle, none driving around town, pedal wasn't any more sensitive. Granted all the trucks had twins so that may have helped but all of them drove better than my smokey 11 holers.

I run Mach 6s with a single 64/65/12 charger. :) I don't use the box when daily driving. With the lower compression, once the truck is warm, it hazes just a tad in cool weather. I'm going to go bigger on the exhaust side but keep the 64 compressor, just waiting for the turbine housing to come back from coating.

I guess I should have added that I ran a .020 over headgasket too. The lowered compression is probably why mine would smoke slightly at idle. If you dont think they surge with the cruise on you better go ride in the truck again and try it. We tried the higher number of holes and none of them worked better.

Plus, Tyler's at sea level and you're up in the clouds over there.

the other day i had some stock injectors on with a stock turbo and ran crazy smoke even at idle with no programmers.

whose twins are you running, maybe you should try turning in the wastegate to get some more boost and better spool characteristic
