how much does a 20 foot camper weigh? im thinking about taking a road trip from california to montana soon and am wondering if a 20ft camper would be to heavy of a tow with my silver bullet and jammer 4's with comp on 2x5. ive figured our how to drive the truck in altitude with this set up just not with a trailer.

I had a 35' bumper pull that was 6800# so I would guess around 4700-5000# unless its a fifth wheel then a little more.

no its a tongue hitch. so i shouldnt have too much trouble towing it with the silver bullet. i just have to keep rpms about 1900.

You'll be deaf by the time you get to Montana. Might want to figure out a way to wrap some insulation or some sort of sound deadener around that AFE intake.

The weight is whatever it says on the tag X2. Depending on how many cool colored rocks and other junk the old lady throws in it.

Turn the comp down a little and it's doable. As you get into elevation, it's gonna get smokey, but keeping the box down allows you to drive on the throttle, not in and out.

Also, depending on your route, there a re a few fun grades coming north. I am in the Seattle/ Tacoma area and I am actually making a run with a trailer to the Butte area in a few days.

No worries here, compounds!

It's doable, but you'll be 3rd direct alot and the motor is gonna be singing to you alot.

the only reason im asking the weight is because the trailer is in storage up in the mountains at her cabin. im thinking comp on 1x3 should be all i need, im just going to keep the rpms up. now i just need to convince the girlfriend to sleep in a camper for 2 weeks while we drive all over montana. lol

I towed a 36' for a friend to erie, pa and 6-7,000 lbs behind these trucks is like nothing is there. I think you will be just fine. I've never had to deal with elevation over 2800' though.

Unless you seriously bog the engine down, you are gonna be surprised how light that camper feels. I've hauled quite a few for friends & like my brother [Brian Lent] said, you can't even tell there is a trailer behind you. I kept looking in the mirrors constantly because I thought I might have lost it. We used to haul our 36' camper with a 94 GMC Sierra [350 engine] with no problem at all. Just favor 2100rpm & keep the revs there, you'll be fine.

ok so what you guys are saying is i should fill the camper up with cement so i can have some fun on the hills? lol

i took my truck up to around 8200 feet once with my old turbo and it was terrible
