How to i get the old shift knob off?????

How do i get the old shift knob off???? got a new white one coming but dont want to ruin anything so would like some info thank you in advance.

If I remember right, you pop out the shift pattern piece with a small screwdriver or sharp object - be careful because it doesn't take a whole lot to chip it... Once you get that off, there should be a nut underneath that you will need to take off.

Get a piece of serpentine belt or one of the strap wrenches and start twisting, should come right off. I was able to unscrew mine by hand.

a small oil filter strap(friction) wrench works awesome.

Well glad the other advice came in, broke and chipped the first one :hehe: but found the nut and got it off, now to try the new method on the next one, lol thx for all the help guys
