hows the trany hold up

Which one? Stick or auto?
Yes it will hold in either case however if you have an auto they are prone to having torque converter problems (no lockup) and if your already slipping it will only get worse. There are a few tricks to get more life and power thru your auto (If that is what you have)

No worries dude give her hell!!!!!!!!!!!

Once you add a new turbo and some injectors you may need a new clutch to hold the power but you are good to go on the pump tweeks with a stock stick :rockwoot:

Have fun, and by the way the next thing to do would be to install a 4k govener spring. They only run about $15.00 and will give you huge power for your buck :rockwoot:

I have an auto, what would those tricks be you speak of?

Do you have a first gen? The pumps on the first gen trucks have some adjustments that can be made on them to free up some fuel for free :rockwoot: You should find someome local to you who knows how to adjust a VE pump and ask for their help. You can also add a very inexpensive govener spring to a VE pump (the spring is about $15.00) that will really wake up your truck. However with an auto you need to fix a few a things to help it hold the new found power. There is a couple cheap tricks to add some strength to your first gen auto as well. Do a search here in the first gen forum and I am sure you will find some good info :rockwoot:

Trucks with stock transmissions never make much power, but that's mostly due to the transmission not putting enough of a load on the engine. The transmissions themselves are good for 300 if not 400 horsepower, but a converter is necessary to load the engine.
