Think you have a laggy charger on the street?

Bring it to Denver. I don't know how you guys drive out here. My EGT gauge looks like the needle is going to pop out of the gauge!!! And boost. Hah. It will make it but it takes a while.... so bring a lunch.

Sorry... Just had to rant a little bit. I am out here doin some work for a month or so and was amazed at how diffrent the truck ran out here.

I have no problems with spool, but I do seem to lose from 10-20 psi depending on altitude vs sea level... I live at 4000ft and 6-7600ft is just a few miles away.

yup, the rare air isn't good for horsepower, but they sure hide some beautiful views up there! (not in Denver! LOL!)

people wonder why I don't want to run anything bigger than a 62mm on my 12v... going over Wolf Creek EMPTY I had to keep it wound up over 2500rpm to keep EGT's below 1200*! LOL!

can't wait to take the '04 up there this summer... whereas my '98 will bury 1600* at sea level, the '04 is lucky to make 1300* through 6 gears! lookin' forward to passing some folks at 10,000ft ;)

Forrest,

With your twins you won't have a bit of a problem keeping the EGT's down here.

I am actually in Thornton right now. Sure is pretty.

Soulezoo-I think your problem is solved by one little word... TWINS!!!

Maxtorq- where is your shop at? Its not over on Ward down the road from a big PURPLE building is it?

Last week I were in Austrian Alps at 8500ft and my Vw TDI engine power was identical to sea level performance , according to my butt-dyno :evil

How high you can climb with car in US?

8500ft was maximun in Austria.

Here is Colorado you can drive to 14,200 ft Mt Evens and Rocky Mountain National Park at 12600ft.

is your VW TDI stock? it's been my experience that the farther you get from factory stock parameters, the more you notice the difference between sea level and high altitude.

Pike's Peak in Colorado goes from about 7500ft to over 14,000ft in under 20 miles :)

a few passes I go over every summer are 12,000+

Yep Pikes Peak is another, but the last 6 miles is gravel.

Yeah, exactly. I live at 4900 and drive higher than that, and at this very moment deciding on my next injector. To cut the path to retreat I pulled the old 275s out of the truck so that I have to do something... ;)

i was living at 7200 feet (laramie wyoming) and just went down to 1300 feet and omg this truck is scary fast now

The thin air does suck here.....my '05 with just an Edge w/ attitude will bury my EGT gauge well before the end of the 1/4 mile! I'm curious how my truck would run at low altitude.

I'm not scared of nothing...but that last 6 miles freaked me out.
I drove up it in my truck a couple of years ago....my girl at the time was sitting on the center console to "get away from the edge of the cliff"
I told her at that altitude it really wouldn't matter where she was sitting if we lunched it........
