Looks like it had trouble passing the valve stone.

the head relized it had too many valves.

jk,sorry about the carnage. that sucks. thanks for sharing!!!

.........

Damn Jason! What happened?

Aparently, between the 120,000 miles of suffering thru 60 psi boost, nitrous backfires and sled pulls, something in the head had enough:charger:....haha,but if anyone has a killer deal on an 05 and up head i'm game........Looks like the new piston will have some extra company with the cam, springs,Floorit stage3 and upgrading my flux1's to 5's and my turbo combo is going from a 62 mm s-300 to a 66mm Ball Bearing Turbonetics and GT88 from www.forcedinductions.com
,so maybe it will be sweet once again, within a couple weeks.

bummer ! that piston looks like it's been used as an anvil :bang

That sucks, mine has dropped 2 but never that bad. First at 75,000 and second at 114,000, both times caught it and just had 1 valve and seat put in head, then it was ok. Sorry about the luck.

I heard no, that's why I never changed. I also talked to a few people about pinning, or staking the seats, some said it would fix, others said no. I have a guy locally that build some awesome motors for all types of motor sports. He said what my head was doing, their wasn't a way to stop it, other than doing all the seats and installing larger seats. To where they had a tighter fit in the head. Even them he said no promises.

The answer is a induction hardened seat, like the stock 99's have.

Finally, one thing better on these VP44 powered motors!

All kidding aside, I have nothing constructive to add.

Most are installing larger seats, pressed in super tight to solve the issue.
