Well I finally got to dyno today and I think it was off. From what I understand they never even loaded it. My first pull was 569hp and 1080Tq. I ran the ADR comp1 pl10, no smarty and sprayed a 60-70hp shot of nitrous. Then the guy said My tire was hanging half way off on one side and I couldnt make another pull with those tires. that initially gave me hope that it was dragging but it looked like it had spun on the roller. I pulled off and ended up putting stock tires on since I drove almost 3 hours to go. The next three pulls were all right above 540hp with nitrous then the last was only like 471Hp with no spray. Call me crazy but wouldnt it take more than 471Hp tp propel my truck to a 12.85 1/4 mile on fuel only? I was really expecting to be over 600 on spray.

6400 lbs @ 104 mph = 488 hp

Sounds about right ;)

That is why it's called "The Humbler" :poke:

Also, the part of the tire running on the drum will have the dust pulled off of the tread and that section of the tread will look black. It is not because it was spinning or slipping:poke:

Nice to meet you pete! Learned a little something about tires today did'nt you.Do not feel bad,I lost 50hp in two weeks on the same dyno. I asked uummm the guy with the clean white first gen what he made and if he had pulled it before and he told me the #'s and they were within 15hp of his normal if I recall.

600 is a big number, bolting parts on and getting in the 5's is easy, getting past 5 however is difficult, im gonna dyno mine in a few weeks and see what it does, i know its 550-575 easy, im hopin to break the big 6!!! #2 only!!!:rockwoot:

bingo

I just dont see how I dropped 75hp going from a 62/12 and jammer 5's to twins and mach 5's

what are the twins? intercooler? rpms? these may play a bigger role now that you are moving a larger amount of air, you may not have enough motor to turn the chargers, I am against twins up until the point of going past an unlimited single!!

Different dyno but same type. I just figured If I could make 550 with a 62/12 jammer 5's and a wore out HRVP I would have gone up with the twins and stuff. It definetly pulls harder and runs faster ET's than it did then.

They are BD towing twins. Stock intercooler, and I ran it all the way to 3700rpm. I only saw 61psi boost on the dyno even spraying. With the smarty on half power and the ADR on pl3 on the way home I could hit 61 easy. Shouldnt it have been higher than that?

Does your truck really only weigh 6400 lbs??? Man, I didn't know there was almost 1000 lb difference in 2nd gen to a 3rd gen....

My truck weigh's 7420 lbs full of fuel and me in it (250 lbs)......My race weight has been an unknown cause I haven't been able to weigh it at the tracks...but I pull the spare, tail gate, and run about a half tank of fuel.....So I figure my weight is somewhere around 7100-7200 racing......My trap speeds are 106-108 mph.....Using the HP calc.....That makes it 590 ish on the HP.

I'm hoping to confirm that at Dunbars party or Garmons shop day in Nov.....I wonder if it'll be close......I've always wondered how accurate the Calculator is............

That 12.85 was at full weight. Tools, spare, tailgate, work stuff, everything, even a full tank.

my buddy who is a big drag racer owns a computer program that they use to do et predictions to run super gas, comp, and bracket racing. they have a calculator that they use to check the dyno when they pick up their racing engines, and its always right... hard to believe isnt it???:rockwoot:

well maybe the dyno needs calibrated then, but at any route, i wouldn't let it bother me too much if your running a 12.85 fully loaded, my guess is its a little heavier than what you think it is though!!:Cheer:

So you were heavier than 6400, right???......Whats your best guess on the race weight then??

That would mean your HP is up from the 488 that dockboy put up from the Calc....

Dude!! Either way - A 12.85 on #2 only is Haulin!!!

Congrats!!

I just thought it seemed really low and wanted to vent. I know guys with trucks just like mine run just as fast and are at the #'s they gave me on nitrous with just fuel. If that makes sense.

If I remember right last time I scaled it at work pretty much the way it ran at the track it was just over 7200.

Yeah, that kewl all right!!!! I guess the one on this site is pretty dang accurate too.....My old dyno numbers with Stock Injectors and Stock cp3 was 530/1050.....So adding my Flux 2's and Stg. 2 cp3 puts it right around where I figured it would be with my Small 62 charger......590-600ish......I just haven't dyno'd again since then...Only made passes down the quarter with my new stuff.....

Well then that puts you at 550 HP then...........That makes more since!!!

Good numbers man!!

No it doesnt at all the 569hp today was on spray, the 12.85 at the track was fuel only. Sorry guys It was just a big let down. I'll go climb in my hole and be a loser now. I suppose I was perhaps:owned: by the dyno
