in and out of lock up!

Yeah. I'm electrically challenged and my dash lights & tail running lights just went out. So far I've determined that it's not a fuse and chasing this is going to SUCK. lol. Here's to experience...:nail:

I am with you on that one.... could your problem just be a new switch on your dash?

Idk, maybe a switch or a short is what I was thinking. I just got back from mudfest, it took a lot of abuse, dirt and water.

This is when I wish I dated a someone who was good with electrical! Hahaha.. sick of working on my own damn truck all the time but if I can do it I'd feel like an idiot paying for it... sometimes I'm tempted. :soap:

I'm going to get in there later if it stops raining and wiggle some things around, maybe use my multi-meter-majig for the first time ever and pretend I know wtf I'm doing.

that and ground the ground wire that goes from the apps to the pump.....cut the ground wire and splice it to the grounds on the batterys problem solved

holy effer my 99 is driving me crazy. The same issue as the original poster.
For two years it has been causing issues. The tranny shop has fixed it twice but it keeps coming back. Now like today its so bad, I'm not sure wtf to do.

Haha good luck

I had two different tranny problems one was the same lock and unlock the other was that it would start out in 2nd never down to first. both problems were caused by a bad solinoid in tranny. two different ones. one is very simple to chang the other one is a little more difficult but not impossible. change them both while your in there.

My truck did it and couldnt figure it out. Bench tested the lockup solenoid and it tested fine. Put the trans back togather and it was still screwing up. Long story short heat in the trans messes with them solenoids. Replaced it with a new one and it works great

i had same problem it is the solinoid acting up just change it. but ther is two in there the other one puts your truck in first geer from a stop when it messes up you will start out in 2nd geer. just change then both while your in there

I was about to say check the tap because when I did mine the little needle decided to go off the side of the wire and not make a good connection. As for the solenoids and sensors, I have a backup set sitting at home for when mine starts to act up haha I've dealt with it before
