Indiana All Truck Dyno Day, April 5th

Looks like I will be there to this year, just a little leary to dyno, until I get my head gasket fixed up but we'll see.

Ah, I probably wont begetting on the rollers either. Anyone that showed up last year knows why! Fully built motor and a single disk clutch do not mix!!!!!!

But at least i can show of the big red hunk of steel under the hood.......

You mean to tell me that you tore a motor down that did 585 horse, rebuilt it even better and still didnt put a clutch in? What did i miss here? I think i would have spent 1500 on a clutch and called it good. Tim

Thats a pretty important corner to cut. Heck he can buy a Valair twin disc nodular with hydro and shipping for 1250.

The clutch is what I will be waiting on when dyno time rolls around. I will have the p-pump on and the trans rebuilt but will still be saving for my clutch. The cheaper valair sounds tempting but I really want the iron giant.

ILLINOISRAM, who did you get you clutch through?

I got mine from Terry Schafer at PowerPartsEngeneering.com He builds his own clutches. But we just installed a Valair for a customer that bought his straight from Valair. 900$ for the dd 12cb 3250 nodular iron clutch, 200$ for the hydro's, and like 100$ for shipping. If that aint a deal i dont know what is. They are not sfi certified but honestly, if your not going to pull at all major events, they will be just fine. Each company used to build dd right on stock flywheels so i wouldnt worry about it that much if you are just an occasional puller. That nodular iron flywheel is a direct replica of the billet one. Pretty sweet deal if you ask me. . Tim

KXHonda, your sig say you allready have a 3600 sprung hub. Did you toast this one or just want the iron giant? The IG is a good clutch, but for the money i think it is over rated.

I think Ill Just stick with South Bend.........Dont worry, yes I cut coroners, but Im comming back around to get'em again!!!

Yea, I toasted the 3600. It didn't look quite as bad as TJ's pics of his 3850 but it wouldn't hold any power over 3rd gear. I think I only had 10k miles on it and 8 hooks. I want to go over kill this time so it lasts me longer.

I got Terrys 3600 in my truck and it has almost 35k miles on it and 10-12 hooks in low 4th more 3rd gear burnouts then I can recall plus a few donuts and still holds as good as the day I put it in.
I failed english if you cant tell.:bang

should be there...don't need to dyno anything as I've already been on those rollers..close to home though. :)

Damn, really makes me wonder what the hell happened with mine. There wasn't any oil from the rear main that I could see.

what are the rules on propane and nitrous? i am asking for my friend who mite come, i know Larry doesn't allow it at his dyno days but can we run it at this one? Anyone know?

not sure, i think on gasers its fine, i think on diesels it might not be, due to the celling being burned one year from a truck on nitrous shooting flames

Less than a week away guys! On the nitrous and propane, it can be a safety factor. If your truck has it and you want to run it, I will have the final say yeah or neah. I do NOT wish to clean up a mess because someone wants to hit a big number and doesn't care if it breaks, I care. Can't wait guys, see you all then!
