industrials waste gate

Got rid off that POS elbow...

hear ya

not a big fan either

did you put a restriction in the line when you put a regular 90° fitting on it?

noticed that HTT uses a elbow with a very small orfice in it

and it has a small bleed too (to atmoshere)

i like the HTT way 100 times better than industials

and lemme guess...its been nuthin but wonderful ever since?

the allen is not very tight in the II elbow

i threw some permatex 1a (the nonhardening thread sealer) on it but still dont really trust it

porting the ex housing now, another area that i cant believe they overlook. even if a guy had a stock 3 pc that had not been ported i am pretty sure the outlet on the manifold is larger than the inlet on the flange of the turbo (bassackwards)

guess they could care less as long as the money keeps rollin in...

make it a great night

ps - you seen the new ex gaskets? maybe they are not new to you guys but they are to me. you dont have to open them up anymore...

someone got smart and started making them for the ported stuff

kinda nice

: )

yea I have seen the gaskets. I still have the stock manifold, have not ported anything at all. Dont really know what to grind, look for, ext. But as for II, I was not very impressed at all. From what I have experianced there service is half arsed. Bearings let go in the first turbo with 1000 miles and had to pay for a rebuild, 500.00. What you gonna do? Chalk it up as another thing learned.

the tighter you make the spring (and/or the more you screw in the allen) the more boost its gonna make

if you make enough boost its gonna lift the head no matter what you have for bolts

everything has its limits

12mm is better than stock and 14mm is better than 12 but everything has its limits

for starters you dont want the flanges on the manifold to be smaller than the head

same as you dont want the flanges (rectangles) in the turbo to be smaller than the manifold

if they are it creates a 90° lip hanging into the flow of air and that really disrupts the flow

thats just the beginning, port matching, but it makes a significant difference

That will be the next project after I take care of all this prime dodge rust that winters in the northeast have blessed me with
