injectors

Do you work on your truck yourself? What do you consider cheap? Put a shift kit in the VB. Is it a Garmon, Goerend, Sun Coast.....NO....better than stock and on the cheap...Yes. Converter....I run an Art Carr, it was the cheapest triple disc with a tighter stall that I could find.....is it a Garmon, Goerend, Sun Coast....I have towed 25,000 lbs with it and tortured it daily and it is as solid as the day I put it in. Would you rather have a strong running truck that you are driving or a stronger running truck thats sittin in the driveway needin a tranny? Up grade the tranny first IMO.
is that all you put on yours is a vb and convertor

Reread the little book I wrote earlier, he is around the 4?? mark, and it's living. People constantly underestimate what the stock internals will take when treated correctly.

i agree, people suspect these things to just explode, with a comp i was able to keep my trans just fine, i put a converter and vb in before i did my injectors tho.

depends on how you drive also. if you wanna take it easy for a while it will last but when you do a chip and injectors you gonna wanna keep your foot in it like everyone else ha

Mine took one slip of the stock converter with the comp turned up... Then after that it just got easier and easier to slip... Never tried just a VB or another converter because I figured it would be a waste of money if it then broke and I had to redo it again...

But I was able to drive the truck for about a year or so after that till I got the trans built. It never did grenade, but towards the end it would slip even with the comp turned off. That was with about 90k on the stock trans, and never pulling more than an occasional small trailer.

I got my stock trans to last with a drag comp and Rv injectors for 50k, and it was still going good when I went to a built tranny with some billet shafts and all. Then I through the twins and some 110's in and nuked that. Just finished doing a rebuild on it two days ago, and its going in next week, we'll see how she does.

Id have the tranny built first, I put injectors in mine before i had it done, and it didnt last long at all. I smoked the converter. Like its been said before, do it right the first time and it will be the last.

thanks. any body know a good mechanic to build trannys, im just gonna nut up and have one built

Where do you live??? I love a Jeff Garmon built auto, but who is close to you or has a dealer close to you?? IF you have a problem after it's built going an hour away and having someone tear it out, fix and reinstall is mighty nice compared to either shipping it across the country or having to limp several hours.

Find out who is close to you that handles Dave Goerend, Suncoast, DTT. If the answer is none of the above, call Garmon's Diesel and talk to Jeff, he can and will ship anywhere.
