Interceptor Status Dec.09

David, real happy to see you back on the road. Looks like all the parties involved treated you well and did a good job! Follow the break in procedures and then go to town.
Merry Christmas
Rob

Thanks Rob!!! Merry Christmas to you and yours !!!!

I'm very blessed to have been helped the way I was!!!

One heck of a Christmas present. Got the truck back on the road and got a yes on the marriage proposal...... After all that you have been through I would still call it a very good year.....

Yeah I'm hoping the year to come will be better than this one! I'm still very blessed though...Even without these material things!!!
Merry Christmas!!!

Swole PM me your address and I will send you the new aluminum bracket for the bypass valve, it will straighten it up and looks alot better than the steel one, we had in the first kits.

That would be great Shane! I just left if loose cause it was too hard to get to those little bolts that go in the head....lol
I'll shoot you the PM!! Thanks again!! Merry Christmas!!!

Thank you to everyone that replied if I haven't gotten to ya yet!!!!
Merry Christmas Everyone!!!!

Good deal! Looks like it came together nicely. I think it's great that the comp d family came together to help a brother out like that. Looking forward to hear about your successes!

swole- what was the issue you were having a week or two ago (something about codes)
what was the cause?

glad the truck is back up and running..... put a trailer on it with some weight and put some heat into the motor!!!

Looks great Dave , Glad to see you back together.
Merry Christmas to everyone!!

Due to money I went with the 04.5-07 pistons....There were 3 good ones in the block CSnyder donated and I bought 3 used ones from a member here (Mr. Pazak) for a VERY reasonable Price. That's why we decided to Coat them in hopes they'll last a bit longer in the heat!!

LOL

Yeah man! I'm gonna take it easy for a while and just enjoy having a truck again!! But don't think for a min. that your gonna hand me my A$$!!bif
I'll be ready for ya!!!

:Cheer:

I had 4 good ones I would havwe donated..lol maybe next time..lol hopefully there is no next time though

Still not completely cured yet....I think it was because of the dielectric grease I put on the BF, MP8 harness and Boost Sensor....I keep trying to get it clean....Used Brake Cleaner the first time but didn't want to use too much and it made it a little better......Then bought some Elec. Contact Cleaner spray and I thought I had it taken care of but it pop another the last time I drove it......I can clear them / it and they stay away for a bit, but then come back....Weird!!

With the BF and MP8 hooked up, I only the the P0236 code
When I take the BF off, I get a P0237 code that just stays!!

:bang

I'll get it figured out....Gonna do another cleaning and scrubbing tmrw and see if it cures it!!

Hope it works.

Looks great Dave , Glad to see you back together.
Merry Christmas to everyone!!

congrads on getting the interceptor back together. have a merry christmas and a happy new year.

you know im looking at that prevost and thinking that should be the site of the official garmon party at ts....just as long as that silver turd in front doesnt blow a hole in the block and block it!

just kiddin buddy...o and ya gotta use the high temp paint for bbq grills on the pistons!

David,

I'm glad you got your truck running again but you have to answer me a question.............................

How did a Police Officer like yourself get baffled by Wade's BS??:what: I thought you guys were trained to spot the obvious?:kick:

congrats on getting it all back together, again, lets all pray that it stays together! truck looks real clean too.

Yeah, I'm So paranoid about even driving it now!! Honestly haven't had time to drive it much and when I do I drive like it's stock...

I'm still having this Pessky Freakin P0236 Code issue though....It's almost as if its NOT a connection issue but has something to do with tempature and then it pops it...I'll tell more about this in another thread if I can't fix it on Wed. or Thurs when I have time to check it out..

My Thermastat is stuck open I think too. I can't get my truck to heat up now...It was going up to 180 like it was supposed too and then the other day all the sudden, the temp just dropped and stayed there...It was climb much higher than the first line.....I'll buy a new thermastat and change it..Just need time!!!:bang

is there heat coming out of the vent or did the gauge/sensor stop working? you said you put the grease on every connection:bang$.02

Joe

Joe

Yeah, I'm getting some heat in the vents...Just won't reach normal opporating temps....It was fine before. This only happened during a 150 mile round trip to some relatives on the 26th....I feel like it'll be my T-Stat...It got kinda rusty while sitting in the head while my truck was down...

BUT, yeah I put that dang grease on everything.....Gonna clean EVERYthing I can on Wed or Thurs and change the T-stat.....I hope to get all these little things taken care of...

I'll be doing my last warm re-torque and lashing the valves too....Then I'm gonna start adding a bit more weight to my right foot!!!! :rockwoot:
I've already seen 60+ psi of boost for very short stents on the hwy. while smoothly rolling into it....Haven't been WOT yet though....

Got almost 800 miles on it since it was fired up....
