What a good boot that is going to hold up to my s400??? Or should I just get some 3" hydrolic hose????

I used 3'' coolant hose I got from a Kenworth dealer and it works great. Its kind of pricey but not near as bad as getting a boot from some performance shop that will do the same type of job.

IF the boot is moving around and the piping has gaps in it you will be blowing boots.

Maybe and inch gap between the pipe. its the one that connects the boost tube to the intercooler.

Cant tell ya how much the move. Clapms were still in place and the boot didnt slip, just exploded! They are from BD power and they say they can withstand 100psi....doubt I was running that much with my s474!

My BD boot did the same thing. I bought PDR & they've been great. A stock boot holds up better than those junk BD boots.

Just because im anal about things like this on my trucks but boots that long i use a few clamps in the middle to stop them from swelling like a balloon. You would be suprised a how the boots move when under pressure. You can tell how that is ripped that it was swelled alot. I recommend the silicone hose that is blue on the outside and pink/ red on the inside kinda $$$ but have never had any issues with these hoses

Or try the duct tape around the boots. The good duct tape won't expand.

Mr Bobs boots have held triple digit boost for way longer than anything else I have tried, $.02 still haven't blown one, they can be a little pricey but they work as advertised. :woohoo:

BD boots have to be the worst out there, they will not hold worth a CHIT! I have the same style PDR and Piekdiesel sell and they are extremely strong and will actually handle over 100psi

I blew 2 or 3 of the BD tubes that connects to the intercooler and Smokin Flatbed blew that boot the other night in Rossvile. We both now have Piers or Peaks boots and no problems at all. My brother runs his stockers and they have held up better than the BD's.

PDR also sells lengths of straight hose that you can cut to any size as well as the preformed stuff.

I might try and make the tube going from the turbo to the intercooler the same size as the inlet of the intercooler so I can just use a staright peice of hose.

Anyone sell just one boot or do I have to buy an entire kit??? All my other ones are fine. This was the only one with a gap between the pipes. I can just put more clamps on the other ones and they will be fine.

Jeff you had some pretty good wheel speed going there. Once you get that clutch in, you should be winning chit soon

where could i get some of these boots?

I get all mine through the local Napa that cares alot of big truck parts. i will see if i can find out were they get the hose from, its comes in what ever length you want and cut it to meet your needs, i normally get it in 3' pieces.
