Intercooler options for old trucks

Well I got called on my water injection at the pull last weekend:rules:

I guess i need an intercooler to keep her cool, but i'm sure not spending the $$$ for a banks or hypermax setup. I've heard of guys fitting superduty intercoolers to the older trucks. Also i here the 6.0 intercooler is more efficent. Any pics or tips?

You can order a Banks kit to do it for around $400 minus the cooler. You can also use the early 99 spider if you have your stock turbo.
You can fab the spider and pipes yourself too, just takes some doing.

The 6.0 cooler is approx 30% larger than the 7.3 IIRC. Grab one of those if you get the chance, should help keep er cool. :Cheer:

if i use the early 99 spider can i use the rest of the pipes to or do i have to make them? I'm thinking buy the spider from the stealership with an ebay 6.0 intercooler, sinse i'll probably have to make pipes anyway.

I'm in the same boat as you oldschool, I have the 6leakr intercooler now just need to quit being lazy and go get the pipe to plumb it. Probly get a few 180's, 90s and 45s hopefully that will do the trick and not give me too much trouble.
