Irritated with trans

I have had both 1kohm resistors and potentiometers go bad. I have had a pot in for quite a few years and I'm on my third one. The first two were cheapo's, the last is a 5 turn 5kohm from Mcmaster which has been good for several years now. I have a digital voltage gage to monitor the tps circuit also. But I had the same symptoms you're having when the first two pots went bad.
 
I'll try putting another POT in it and see what happens. What would be the best place to get a solenoid from if changing the POT out with a new one still doesn't work?
 
Put a new POT in last night and on the way to work this morning it was even worse so I bout another POT today after work put it in and so far so good. I'll post back after a few days if I have any more issues. Thank you all for all your help.
