Issues after blowing up top charger...

I'm in the process of it now. Haven't posted anything of my build on here though, too lazy to retype it all! :lolly:
Wow, i'm threadjacking bad.

Any updates? Got her buttoned up yet?

You need more air... badly!

No, I think the charger was on its way out. Going down the interstate it would clear up in 5th.

Got the top of the block all cleaned up... Just waiting on the head gasket. Then ill get everything back together.

There was a lot of compressor wheel chunks in the intercooler when I took it out today. Glad Im going with another one.

Got the head back on and everything back on and still sounds like it did. Doesn't sound like it's not turning over fast enough. Got both battery's and the starter checked yesterday and they are all good.

So I'm stumped... Checked the valves countless times and are all spot on.

Pull the injectors out and see if it turns over the same. Sounds like lack of compression to me, but in your vids you didn't turn it over very long. Try and source a compression tester and see what you're making.

A lack of compression won't make it turn over slower :bang it would turn over faster, & to notice a difference there'd have to be no rings on the pistons. I do agree with pulling the injectors tho, but turn it over by hand (wrench) to see if there's any stiff areas. Maybe an o ring fell out while you installed the head ???

It didn't sound much slower, sounded unloaded to me. But like I said, he never cranked it for very long in the video.

That was before he found pieces of compresser wheel jambed between the valves & seats. He has repaired that now, & it turns over slow.

Yeah that's still the same video. I havent gotten another one of it after the head got all cleaned up.

Pulled the pump off last night to see if it was giving me any resistance but it turns over by hand correctly so the pump is good.

I'm almost thinking that I spun a rod/main bearing or something crazy.

I did pull the tranny out right after this happened and fixed it and put it back in before I had a chance to the charger on. So maybe I screwed up and put something on a bind when I did that.... I'm gonna start pulling that today and see if everything looks ok.

If not I'm just going to pull the damn motor and start into it. Really nothing else that I can and I'm sick of the elimination games.

Well I feel like a dumb ass. The starter wasn't getting enough juice. The contacts were worn out and the contact stud was stripped out!!

Got it to fire up last night. Now I just gotta get the tranny in and pump on and should be good to go!!

It's alot better find rather than the alternative . Good to hear..That starter place you took it to isn't a place where you should frequent too often if they didn't catch that.

Well I took it to advance the first time and I dont think they know what they are doing most of the time. I called a small little shop to see if I could get contacts and what not for it and the guy turns out to be one knowledgable person on starters and alternators. He only charged me $25 bucks and it spins a lot better then before.

Got the truck fired up last night!! Sounds good, everything seems to be good to go.
