It Wasn't The 5th Gear Nut

I blew that ring, looked exactly like yours. Luckily I have a full warranty on my tranny now & the tranny shop only charged me $50 parts/labor. I kinda admitted to it being my fault. LOL
 
yeah this one was definitely my fault. Odieub is hooking me up with the 5th gear clutch and dodge put it in my pooper for the gear oil, but hopefully i'll have it back on the road tomorrow night. Supposed to dip into the single digits tomorrow night, so im sure we'll take plenty of breaks huddlng around the woodfire stove in my buddies shop

well thanks to odieub, i went and picked up the 5th gear clutch that i needed, at an awesome price as well. Thanks againg brett!!
 
wow, i thought i was the only one with that bad of luck. broke 5th gear nut in my 3500 and then fixed it and a week later did this exact same thing.
 
I just blew 5th gear out again today. I have a appointment monday to get my new gear installed. The tranny shop is doing a cryoed gear free of charge.
 
i broke welds holdin 5th gear nut on pullin stock trailer at 70mph and jus startin to build boost at 30psi. jus got my new nut and gear oil, thinkin of weldin tha nut all tha way around shaft as a bandaid so it dont happen again till i get my 10spd eaton an fuller swap worked put in motion.
 
I picked my truck up tonight, it was the same 5th gear hub AGAIN! The tranny shop installed a cryo'd New Venture [not aftermarket] this time...hope it holds up.
 
glad im not the only one with bad luck on the nv4500's....im rebuilding tranny #5 right now:bang

lol well im in the middle of taking the tranny guy thats done mine that 4 times to court right now....4 times and he still cant get it right!!! all under warrenty so im rebuilding it myself this time and HOPFULLY getting my money back to pay 4 the parts i have to get.

argggghhhhh.... no problems with mine... but with all the negative feedback.

may have to snag a NV4500 tranny for backup. they pop up all the time on craiglist.
